How to Find and Choose Sex Toys

Those who have never shopped for a sex toy before are in for quite a surprise. The sheer volume and variety of options available is enough to make anyone’s jaw drop to the floor. With all of those choices, how can you possibly find the right sex toy? Well, what you have to do is answer a few questions to help you narrow your selection. You should also remember that no one ever said you could have just one! Buy a few and experiment.

When you are choosing one of your first toys though, you can focus your selection by looking at a few things. First, do you want something that takes batteries, such as a vibrator? Do you want a traditional dildo? Are you looking for a clitoral stimulator? What size would you like?

Once you can answer those questions, you can start looking at the different options and materials that are available. You might want plastic, metal, or even glass. Then, you can start looking at the aesthetics of the toys. Do you want something realistic looking? Toys come in a rainbow of colors as well.

It might take some time to find a perfect toy, but it will certainly be some fun shopping.

There Is No Place for Jealousy

When it comes to sex toys, one of the few things that could ever be considered an issue with them is the fact that they can actually make some people jealous. Men are the ones who fall prey to this mostly. They may feel intimidated by the idea of a sex toy their woman is using, and they might even feel as though the toy is somehow replacing them. At that point, jealousy comes slithering out of the cracks. This is a killer for any relationship.

What you have to do is help him to realize that you are not using the sex toys as a replacement. You are using them to accentuate the experience. Instead of having him sit on the sidelines and watch as you use it – although some men do like that – you could have him lend a hand so to speak. Make him a part of giving you that pleasure.

You also need to remember that it is not all about you. You could always surprise him with a sex toy that he could use, such as a Fleshlight.

By talking things through and helping him to understand that the toys should bring you closer together, it is often possible to squash jealousy before it gets a foothold.

When Your Vibrator No Longer Gets You Off

If you use the same vibrator over and over, you might find that you get a bit tolerant to it and it doesn't get you off like you used to. There’s great information out there about how to use a vibrator to get yourself off, and some that suggest that you can use one too much, but sometimes you might just need to change to a different model.

There are a lot more sophisticated vibrators on the market than they’re used to be. There are vibrators that look nothing like a penis and there are ones that look almost exactly like a penis. There are vibrators with multiple types of vibration available, at multiple speeds, which are very durable and long lasting.

If you've been using the same old vibrator for a long time, consider getting a new one if it’s not working for you anymore. You may actually find that it does again after you use something else. Remember that there are so many different types of vibrators that you can have more than one good one and use them both, so there’s no reason to feel like one sex toy should take care of all of your needs, every time. Options are not in short supply!

Fun Games for a Spicy Night

Never have a dull routine when it comes to your sex life. While sex might not be the only thing in a relationship – it shouldn’t be – that does not mean that you can let your sex life suffer and dwindle. If you do that, you can be sure that your relationship will follow. If you want to add something a bit special to your nights, consider playing some fun sex games with that someone special. Let’s look at a couple of easy and fun suggestions.

Truth or Dare

You’ve probably played truth or dare before, but you might not have done it with a sexual twist. It can be a fun game for couples to play, and whether you choose truth or dare, you can be sure that something exciting will follow. You might even want to have a few interesting sex toys on hand for those dares!

Trace

Here’s a simple game that can really help a couple connect in a sensual way. Take turns using your finger to trace different letters, shapes, or words onto your lover’s body. Have them wear a blindfold or close their eyes and guess at what you are writing or drawing. Draw on all different parts of the body – the small of the back, chest, thighs, and more!

Expanding Your Sex Toy Arsenal

Sometimes, people discover sex toys and they can’t stop once they get going. There are many options out there, and here are some ways that you can add to your collection and what go consider when you do.

Consider whether you want a completely different toy or just a more advanced version of what you have. You’re particularly in luck if you’re looking for a vibrator, as there are some very sophisticated and quality models out there now. Consider how it differs from what you have. More attachments? Different attachments? Different power source? There are many options to try and you can be very specific in this regard.

Consider how much material plays into how a sex toy works, as well. For example, there are very lifelike materials available and there are ultra-modern materials, such as stainless steel. Experiment in this regard. You may find that something you would have passed on normally to be exactly what you’re looking for! The options in materials are astounding these days.

You can also consider whether you want the toy for a new form of play or for one you do all the time, and let that guide your choice.

Tips for Foreplay

Most of the time, men are the ones who rush through foreplay like they are tearing off wrapping paper on Christmas morning, but women can be guilty of this as well. Foreplay is actually a very important part of your intimate life and it really does have the potential to accentuate the sexual experience. Instead of seeing it as a task, look at some of the ways that you can do it right and have a great time.

Start with some dirty talk. You can keep it light and just a bit naughty, or you can go a little dirtier if that’s how you and your partner like it. While you are talking dirty, get out the massage oil and give your partner a sensual massage from top to bottom. Remember, you aren’t just trying to rush through the foreplay. You really need to make it about making your partner happy. Focus your attention on one another. Maybe even bring out some sex toys if both of you like using them.

You can then slowly move on to other things and, yes, that includes sex. Foreplay can, and should, be a great time for both of you so take your time and learn to master it.

Being Yourself Is Sexy

There are many magazine articles and web pages written about what it takes to be sexy, but the answers that an article in Psychology Today got may be a bit surprising to some readers. The article is about what it means to have really good sex, which is something that everyone is told that they should be having by just about every media venue.

One of the components of great sex was the sexiness of being authentic. This was listed by respondents as one of the most important aspects of having really good sex. You don’t have to be a master at every type of sex in the book, as long as you’re being who you really are and aren’t inhibited about it, you have the potential to have great sex.

It makes sense, as being open and honest means that you’ll ask for what you actually want, which is likely to be the best possible sex for you. When you’re thinking of trying new things, remember that being honest about what turns you on is one of the biggest turn owns of all. Being liberated is a great way to make your pattern feel the same way.

Choosing the Right Dildo

Selecting the right dildo can be an overwhelming experience for many women. Those who have never shopped for one before can find that the sheer number of options can make it difficult to decide. By understanding some of the most popular options, buying the right dildo becomes easier.

Consider the different types of materials. They come in glass, silicone, jelly, and more. Silicone is quite popular because they offer flexibility and a realistic feel. They also heat up to body temperature quickly. Women need to determine what shape they would like as well. Some have a curved shape, which can be good for stimulating different areas. The size is important as well. Women new to sex toys may want to choose something in the “Goldilocks Zone” – not too small and not too big. If the dildo is too big, it could be too intimidating. If it is too small, it may not offer enough stimulation. Consider the size of toys you’ve used in the past or your partner’s penis size when choosing a dildo.

Always keep these three factors in mind while looking at the options on the market. They make it easier to choose one that is right for you!

Laws Banning Porn Forward Unpleasant Stereotypes

In England, David Cameron has been making a great deal of hay about his success in protecting families by making it more difficult for people to search for porn. An article in the Telegraph, however, points out some rather disturbing stereotypes on which laws such as these – which are endorsed by powerful political lobbies in many countries – are based.

For women, it has been a long road toward being able to openly and unashamedly embrace sexuality. The restrictions on people’s rights to look at pornography, erotica, buy sex toys and engage in other sexual activities that many groups endorse tend to be predicated on the idea that they are somehow protecting women. As the article points out, this rather tends to cast women in the role of helpless victims who are somehow always at risk because of the fact that sex exists.

Fast forward to the end of the article and you’ll find out some interesting facts. For example, women are more likely than men to search out certain terms related to sex in search engines. Women are also just as likely as men to look up information on sex toys, sex chat and other subjects, rather putting to the lie the idea that women need to be protected from sex and begging the question: who do these restrictions really serve?

50 Shades of Dominant

Recently, the popularity of books such as 50 Shades of Grey has brought sexual dominance into the focus of mainstream sexual thought. Sexual dominance is a preference rather than an orientation, the latter term being more apt to describe homosexuality or bisexuality. Some people are occasionally sexually dominant but not always so and other people are what are called lifestyle sexual dominants, which means that they are almost always inclined to take the dominant role during sex.

If this is something that you and your lover are interested in exploring, such as a woman writing in The Frisky detailed, it’s not something you should feel weird about. There are plenty of sex toys geared toward this type of sexuality and, just as the name of the popular book indicates, there are vastly different degrees of sexually dominant. Some people are incredibly demanding of their lovers and seek out lovers who enjoy partners who have that quality. Other people aren’t so much dominant as they are very clear about what they want and have an ability to make it apparent that they intend to get it. No matter where you fall on the spectrum, this is a perfectly normal, healthy style of sexual play that can be worth exploring.

Sharing Sex Toys

Some sex toys are used by couples or groups of people who are intimate together. Therefore, they end up sharing the same toy. There are safe ways to do this and there are genuinely dangerous ways to do this. The thing to keep in mind is that, even though it’s not an animate object, a sex toy is every bit as capable of carrying contaminants as is any body part. With that in mind, it’s easy to see that there are some smart practices you can follow to protect yourself and your partners.

First, using a condom is a great idea. You should change the condom whenever you change the area of the body that the sex toy is being used on or whenever you change from one person to the other. Health gives great information on this.

Cleaning the sex toy is also vital to making certain that it is safe. Not only does this keep the sex toy safe, it can also prolong its life cycle. By keeping it properly cleaned, silicone will last longer and stay soft and other materials will hold up longer, as well. By cleaning, you can be sure that you will get the maximum possible value out of your sex toy.

Making that Rechargeable Sex Toy Last

If you purchased a sex toy with a charger that plugs into the wall socket, it likely has some sort of a lithium-ion battery in it. These types of batteries are famous for being very long lasting and for being able to take many charges. Some of the things that people believe about these batteries, however, are untrue and may actually make your battery last shorter than it could.

To make the battery in most of these toys last longer, don’t discharge the toy completely. Tech Republic does a good job of explaining why. It should have a little bit of charge left in it when you put it on the charger again. Most of these batteries are very long-lasting before they are completely discharged, so this usually isn’t an issue. This may be counterintuitive for some people, however, as many people have it in their head that recharging a partially discharged battery means that the battery will never fully charge again. This is true for some types of batteries, but not for the types of batteries you’ll generally find in rechargeable sex toys.

If you are using rechargeable batteries that are not built into the sex toy itself, however, make sure you follow the manufacturer’s recommendations as to discharging and recharging the battery.
