If you purchased a sex toy with a charger
that plugs into the wall socket, it likely has some sort of a lithium-ion
battery in it. These types of batteries are famous for being very long lasting
and for being able to take many charges. Some of the things that people believe
about these batteries, however, are untrue and may actually make your battery
last shorter than it could.
To make the battery in most of these toys
last longer, don’t discharge the toy completely. Tech Republic does a good job
of explaining
why. It should have a little bit of charge left in it when you put it on
the charger again. Most of these batteries are very long-lasting before they
are completely discharged, so this usually isn’t an issue. This may be
counterintuitive for some people, however, as many people have it in their head
that recharging a partially discharged battery means that the battery will
never fully charge again. This is true for some types of batteries, but not for
the types of batteries you’ll generally find in
rechargeable sex toys.
If you are using rechargeable batteries
that are not built into the sex toy itself, however, make sure you follow the
manufacturer’s recommendations as to discharging and recharging the battery.
