Roleplaying is a great way to put the excitement and the spark back into a relationship, but it can be a bit awkward, at least in the beginning. Even those couples who have been together for a number of years and who are fully comfortable with one another can feel silly when they are taking on other roles and playing make believe.
Before donning pirate garb or pretending to arrest your lover, it’s a good idea to talk think over first. Talk about the idea of roleplaying and slowly get used to the idea. Talk about one another’s fantasies before you ever start getting into the roles. The more you know about the fantasy each of you has the better, and more real, you can make the roleplaying scenario.
Once the idea starts to seem more fun, and less silly, you will start to see it as a reality, and that can really get the engines going. The key is making sure that you are entirely comfortable with your partner and releasing those inhibitions. Get into the role and really have fun. It’s a great way to make virtually anything happen while you and your lover are in the bedroom!
